Esquel’s SS2017 Line Review – Global Citizens
On Jan 18-19, the 2017 Spring/Summer Line Review was successfully held in Esquel’s Eastern Central Plaza office. The story of “Global Citizens” was told alongside the fabulous display of the latest collection of fabrics, trims and colors on the G/F and 25/F. Featuring four sub-themes - “Monks & Geisha”, “Sahara Nomads”, “Yanomami Tribe” and “Indian Gypsies”, the collection was inspired by rediscovering some exotic lifestyles and cultures that have been lost in time or escaped the modern worlds’ attention.
In “Monks & Geisha”, the palette was simplified into a range of indigo blues with accents of lacquer red, and with the influence of Japanese’s “Boro” textile, “Denim Heather” and “Urban Homespun” were utilized to create unique textures and shades with subtlety. In “Sahara Nomads”, colors were in shades of Khaki, taupe and highlights of olive, complemented by the light weight and slight texture of crispy yarn. The green tones set the foundation of the palette in “Yanomami Tribe”, with beautiful colors of the bird of paradise as highlights, and homespun, uneven yarns and different weaving techniques were used to create a raw and rustic effect for the line. Last but not least, the “Indian Gypsies” featured a color palette of the spices, textural Madras and ombre checks.
Some of the highlights of the line review included the environmentally-friendly “Natural Laundered”, the line with no blech or dye, and less chemical and water used, and also the “Icy Cotton” line that carried a futuristic impression with its lux handfeel. EAP also offered the customers the latest trimming collections of the highest quality and creativity, the ultimate guide to the main season trends.
Congratulations to Product Development and Merchandising and EAP for organizing a culturally-colorful line review with their unbounded creativity.
