Newly-bred ELS Cotton species received prestigious Xinhai 50 accreditation

We are pleased to announce that our own Extra Long Staple (ELS) cotton Yuan Long #5, entitled Xinhai #50, was examined and approved as a new ELS cotton species by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in January 2016. 

Similar to its relatives, Xinhai # 33 in the ELS cotton family, Xinhai #50 has silky and extra-long fibers (1.5 to 2.5 inches, 35 to 60 mm), while bearing the advantage of a higher yield and more premium and comprehensive quality. Xinhai #50 possesses better strength and fineness, as well as barren, disease resistant and tolerates well to saline-alkali. The species was incubated in 2005 and submitted for ministerial approval since 2011. It has gone through years in field comparison trials before being approved as a new ELS cotton species. 

Known for its high strength and silky long fibres, ELS cotton is considered of the top quality and an important material for the high-end and luxury sector in the global textile industry.
